Huemn S/S 2012
Huemn is a prêt label by Pranav Misra and Shyma Shetty. For their SS ’12 collection- ‘Working class hero’, they were inspired from the thousands of faceless, skilled individuals who work tirelessly as the backbone of society in the bracket called ‘working class.’ The world refuses to acknowledge them, yet cannot do without them. Each garment from their collection emphasizes this unacknowledged individuality that is constantly fighting a losing battle with rules set by capitalism and democracy.
The images tries to bring out this story by shooting the garments against a backdrop of a set that resembles a standard old government office in India where countless gifted people lead mechanical, thankless lives of anonymity.
